What you need to know about the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS

BMW’s 313cc siblings, the sport-naked 310 R and adventure-tourer 310 GS, will go on sale soon.

Pre-bookings for the BMW G 310 R and the BMW G 310 GS have commenced, and the booking amount stands at Rs 50,000 for both bikes. Both bikes have gone into production at TVS' Hosur plant and are on sale in European and US markets. Both the G 310 R and G 310 GS were showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. The 310 R is a sport-naked and has a muscular tank, angular headlamp and compact dimensions. The baby GS inherits its family styling, including the stubby front beak, radiator shrouds and headlamp cowl. The G 310 R is expected to be priced at around Rs 3.5 lakh, while the G 310 GS will be priced around Rs 4 lakh (both prices, on-road) and the company will launch both bike on July 18 in India. Deliveries are expected by end of July or early August.

Both bikes are powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit that churns out 34hp and 28Nm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox and both bikes can be pushed to hit 143kph.
