Being Truthful

We at Droom strongly believe that seller must be truthful and transparent while selling an automobile. Seller has access to the information for the vehicle he is selling that is far superior than a buyer can ever develop. Trying to get the best price for once vehicle based on merit is an absolutely right thing to do. But trying to get higher price for a vehicle based on concealment of information, lying and fabrication of information or documents is completely wrong.

In many parts of the world, there are proper legal rules that a seller must disclose any unknown problem in the vehicle he is selling if there is a reasonable way for seller to know about those problems. For example, saying that the car engine was not repaired or the car has not accident or the car has original paint – when the seller knows for sure that the engine was repaired, the car had an accident and he was driving it or the car was repainted. Similarly, tampering with the odometer reading or covering up any other issues with artificial means for better pricing etc. are the things that are completely wrong morally and legally. And the most blatant examples of wrong things by seller would be selling a stolen car or selling a car with fabricated or not genuine documents.

SELLERS AT DROOM ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AGAINST:

  • Tampering with the odometer reading
  • Cloning the vehicle, which means giving identity of one vehicle to another vehicle of same - make, model, and colour
  • Fabricating the documents
  • Not allowing the buyer to test drive the vehicle
  • Lying about features or specifications
  • Misleading or cheating the buyer by offering fake coupons or discounts
  • Knowingly concealing the information
  • Misusing Droom’s platform for unauthorized selling and promotions
  • Knowingly covering issues and problems
  • Making false promises about the extra perks like accessories or services
  • Deliberately not answering the questions that can reveal truth
  • Selling a stolen vehicle
  • Selling “cut and shut” vehicle, which mean making one vehicle with two accidental vehicles
  • Diverting from mutually agreed terms of conditions settled on Droom platform
  • Trying to bribe the vehicle inspection expert who came to inspect the vehicle to conceal important information

Please note that dealers/ individual sellers are responsible for any legal issues and other liabilities arising if you try to and sell these items at Droom.
