Dual Channel ABS Jawas To Be Delivered by Month End

After staying away from the market for a long time, Jawa made a reentry in the Indian market at the end of last year. With the launch of two models in India, the brand had begun taking the official bookings for the bike in India and soon after the company had to close the online bookings due to the large number of bookings it had received. The bookings of the bike have only begun at the end o March this year and now the customers are bound to grow restless about getting hands on their bike that they had booked long back.

A recent twitter conversation with the founder of Classic Legends Pvt Ltd (the company responsible for bringing Jawa back to India ) Anupam Thereja has brought forth that the deliveries of the dual channel equipped version of the Jawa bikes will commence by the end of the month of June. The deliveries as usual will be made to the customers in the order of their bookings.

For the uninitiated, let us inform you that Jawa had initially launched the bikes in the market only with the option of single channel ABS unit. However, looking at the customer response later the bike maker also decide to bring out the optional dual channel ABS version of the newly launched bikes. Since the decision to bring the dual channel ABS version of the bike was taken at a later stage, the deliveries of the dual channel version of Jawa bikes have also been delayed. The single-channel ABS version of the Jawa Forty-Two is priced at Rs. 1.55 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the similar configuration Jawa Classic is priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The dual-channel ABS version of the bikes, on the other hand, are priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs and 1.73 lakhs respectively (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

Last year, the retro maker Jawa launched two bikes – Jawa and the Jawa 42. The two bikes come with different styling, but have identical mechanical parts. Both the bikes are mechanically identical but look different from each other. The Jawa Forty-Two and the Jawa Classic come with an ARAI certified mileage of 37.5 km/h. Although the mileage of the bikes is the same as Royal Enfield Classic 350, the main rival of the bikes, Jawa bikes are high on power and are also lighter. This is a major advantage for the Jawa duo as they can deliver better performance by the virtue of these two qualities. The two bikes come with the same single cylinder 293cc engine rated to deliver 27 Bhp and 28 Nm. The engine comes with a 6 speed manual gearbox as standard.
