Hero Dash Electric Scooter, Long Range Version of Optima, Nyx Launched

With the growing push for electric vehicles in the Indian market, the local companies too have now started stepping up in many ways. One similar company is Hero Electric that just launched their Dash electric scooter in the Indian market. The latest electric offering from the brand has been priced at Rs. 62,000 ex-showroom and comes with a range of 60 kilometres on a full charge. While the price of the scooter is quite less when compared to other home-grown offerings in the market, the range of the scooter is also on the lower side. The electric scooter from the company comes with a 48 volt 28 amp hour Li-Ion battery that can be fully charged in just 4 hours with the help of fast charge. The full charge will give you a range of 60 kms. Since this product has been launched for the domestic market, the scooter comes with a 145 mm ground clearance that should be able to equip it to handle all the rough undulations of the Indian streets. Powering the scooter is a 250W electric motor and it weighs just 77 kilograms. The scooter comes with 13 inch wheels and has tubeless tyres as standard. Other key features of the Hero Dash include LED DRLs, LED headlights, digital instrument cluster, USB mobile charging port, dual tone body colour and graphics and remote seat opening.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch of the electric scooter, the CEO of Hero Electric India, Sohinder Gill stated,

Hero electric is determined to deliver the best of electric two-wheeler mobility options to eco-conscious customers who prefer smarter mobility solutions. The all-new dash is our latest and most lucrative offering that offers style, practicality, performance with a powerful Li-ion battery that is portable and reliable, and I am certain this will appeal to people of all age groups. As always, we will continue to bring in new and better products and are always listening to customer feedback.

If the range of the Dash electric scooter was a cause of concern for you, do not fret as the company has launched two more electric scooters that come with a greater range. The company has launched the extended range versions Optima and NYX ER in the market. These scooters are not only long range but are also more powerful than the Dash electric scooter. The Hero Optima comes with a range of 110 kilometres and the NYX comes with a range of 100 kilometres. The extended range of these scooters makes these offerings very well suited for commuter use in urban environments. The price for Optima ER has been set at Rs. 68,721, ex-showroom, and the NYX ER has been priced at Rs. 69,754. These scooters offer a much higher range than the Ather S340 but are not as flashy looking nor do they offer the same kind of outright performance and features. For those on a budget though, these electric scooters make a lot of sense as they’re a lot cheaper than the Ather S340. However, the range comes at the cost of a limited top speed of 42 Kmph, in order to conserve the battery. Both scooters uses 48V battery packs that can be charged in 4-5 hours. Hero Electric offers a 3 year warranty on both the scooters and their battery packs.
