Honda Two-Wheelers have just launched the updated version of Africa Twin. Introductory price for 2020 Africa Twin is 15.35 lakhs (Ex-Showroom) India. Bookings for this Adventure Motorcycle start from today with deliveries said to commence from May 2020. Africa Twin is already sold in 50+ countries and was first developed around three decades ago. The new Africa Twin Adventure comes with a new engine, new body frame, and suspension. The bike will come in both Manual and DCT automatic transmissions with reduction in weight by 2.5 kgs and 2.2 kgs, respectively. The Standard variant is more off-road type whereas the Adventure Sportz is a comfortable tourer appealing to the riders who love long rides.
New Honda Africa Twin comes with upswept exhaust which lends it a muscular appearance. It features adjustable windscreen, spoke wheel tubeless tyres, and a split-headlamp setup which comes with redesigned LED lights. The bike flaunts a sharper tail lamp design. If we talk about the powertrain, Africa Twin is powered by a new 1084cc, parallel-twin motor churning out 102bhp and 105Nm with a 24.8 litre fuel tank capacity.
Safety features are aplenty like cornering ABS, wheelie control, rear-lift control with cornering lights and cruise control. It also has a 6.5 Inch touch-sensitive TFT display supporting Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth while Africa Twin comes with six riding modes, namely Tour, Urban, Gravel, and Off-Road, along with two user modes. The 2020 Africa twin is made of bolted aluminum sub-frame instead of a welded setup. It will compete against the likes of BMW R 1250 GS and the Triumph Tiger 1200 in the Indian market.
