MG Dealers To Start Taking Booking For MG ZS EV From December

MG dealers have started accepting bookings for its all-electric SUV from December 21, 2019. The ZS Electric SUV is the second offering from Morris Garrage after its first SUV MG Hector hit the market this year.

MG dealerships will start accepting bookings for its all-electric SUV from December 21, 2019.

The ZS Electric SUV is the second offering from Morris Garrage after its first SUV MG Hector hit the market this year. The car is expected to carry a price tag of Rs. 22 lacs (ex-showroom) as the car will arrive in the Indian market via the CKD route (completely knocked down).

The SUV will be powered by a 44.5kWh battery pack is ARAI certified and gives a driving range of 340km on a single charge. The SUV has an electric motor that produces a staggering 143hp of power and 353Nm of torque. Due to a powerful motor, the SUV can go from 0 to 100km/hr in under 8.5secsonds.

The ZS EV has a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery that can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 50 mins using a 50kW DC fast charger that will be available at select MG showrooms.

The EV comes with a  standard 7.4 kW AC home charger that will take around 6-8 hours to get fully charged. The SUV will also have a portable charging cable that can be plugged into any wall socket. The car also comes with the regenerative braking technology that further charges the battery while on the go. This technology should ease your driving range to an extent.

Also on the offer is the company’s roadside assistance service that will be handy if you ever run out of charge.

Similar to the MG Hector, the ZS EV will come with MG Shield which has a range of aftersales initiatives and warranty plans. But the services under the umbrella of MG Shield will be unique to the all-electric SUV.

MG Motor India has done a commendable job to bring an EV powertrain quite early. Prior to the MG ZS EV, Tata gave us the Tata Tigor EV while the Hyundai gave us the Hyundai Kona Electric.
