The bike will finally be replaced after ten years.

Honda has been selling the current CB1000R for ten years now, however, reports suggest that Honda could have a new version of its naked 1,000cc machine ready in time to display at the EICMA show in November. The bike is expected to be sleek, and modern, some say it may even resemble the new Fireblade.

The engine could be based off the current CBR1000RR Fireblade, but will put out less power in comparison. The current 1000R makes just 125hp, so you can safely expect a bump up in power, somewhere around the 150hp mark. You can also safely expect a bevy of new electronic assists from the new Fireblade as well as ride-by wire throttle.

Where Honda will position this bike is yet to be seen - the current crop of litre-class nakeds like the Kawasaki Z1000 and Suzuki GSX-S1000 are more cost effective while the Aprilia Tuono 1100, BMW S1000R, KTM 1290 Super Duke R are more powerful, and come with more kit, but cost more.
