RE classic 350 comes with same underpinnings of BS4 but a dip in power delivery. Bookings opened at a refundable amount of 10,000/-

Motorcycle manufacturer based in Chennai, RE will launch the new Classic 350 BS6 on January 7. Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 upgraded units have already started to reach dealerships across the country.

The updated Classic 350 will be available in newer paint schemes and decals outside of the new fuel injection system and other limited improvements to BS6 compliance. Alloy wheels are said to be available as standard, but Chrome and the 350's Signals will continue to feature spoked wheels.

The current-generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 compliant with BS4 features a single-cylinder air-cooled 346cc engine generating 19.8bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. The engine is mounted to a gearbox with five speeds. While the 346cc engine will remain the same after the BS6 upgrades, there will be a slight drop in power and output figures-a problem for most motorcycle enthusiasts.

The current generation RE Classic 350 is priced upward at Rs 1.45 lakh, and prices for the BS6-compliant motorcycles can be expected to rise. It is estimated that the BS6 models will bear a premium of about Rs 10,000. Some in the industry believe it's worth waiting for the BS6-compliant RE Classic 350 just because the motorcycle is going to be a new and improved version. Royal Enfield opened motorcycle reservations for a refundable sum of Rs 10,000.
