The TVS Wego now costs Rs 50,165 after Rs 2,000 price drop.

TVS has lowered prices to increase sales of the Wego scooter in its line-up. The price drop of Rs 2,000 comes at a time when other bike makers have been increasing prices. Not only that, but TVS itself has raised the price of its Apache RR 310 by Rs 8,000.
This reduction of Rs 2,000 takes the price of the Wego from Rs 52,165 to Rs 50,165. The disc brake model, on the other hand now retails for Rs 53,083 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). If one looks at the February 2018 sales, TVS only managed to move 1,901 pieces compared to the 3,402 they sold during the same time in 2017.

This price cut is expected to increase the sales. The Wego is powered by a 109cc motor that makes 8hp and 8.4Nm of torque. It comes with a digital gauge, external fuel filler cap, and optional USB charger. In terms of competition, the TVS goes up agaisnt the Honda Activa-i, Suzuki Lets, Yamaha Ray-Z and the Hero Pleasure.
