Suzuki has unveiled the new Katana. The bike is named after a heroic bike of 1981 called the Katana. Many design elements from the Katana concept has been carried forward to the new bike. The Suzuki sticker on the tank is taken from the 1981 Suzuki Katana.

There is a unique rectangle shaped LED headlamp housed within front fairing. The angular fuel tank and floating tail give the bike a very aggressive appeal. The capacity of the chiselled fuel tank is just 12-litres. All-digital LCD dash on new Katana is the same unit from the GSX-R1000R.

Powering the Katana is a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that churns out 150 HP and 108 Nm of torque. The bike gets a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The Katana is equipped with three-level traction control system, the TC system on this bike can be switched off. Brembo radial callipers and dual-channel ABS is standard on the bike. The fully-adjustable KYB 43 mm diameter USD fork on the front and the rear monoshock unit with preload and rebound damping complete the suspension hardware of the bike.

Rumours are also there that Suzuki may bring a turbocharged 700cc Katana. This legendary motorcycle will be available in Europe by early next year and the bike is expected to hit Indian market by late 2019.
