The Italian sports bike maker, Ducati has announced the updated version of the Diavel. The 2019 Diavel 1260 gets many features, software enhancements and cosmetic upgrades. There will be two variants a standard Diavel 1260 and a Diavel 1260 S.
The tank, headlight and cowls of the bike have been slimmed. The front indicators have been very beautifully integrated into the radiator side covers. The new models of Diavel get a steel trellis frame that uses the engine as a stress element. The mechanical hardware used on these models are top-notch. The standard Diavel 1260 comes equipped with 50 mm adjustable front USD forks. While the 1260 S gets fully adjustable 48 mm USD front forks and Ohlins monoshock at the rear.
The top-spec variant uses Brembo M50 monobloc callipers whereas the regular version Diavel comes equipped with M4.32 callipers. The bikes get full-colour TFT display, keyless ignition, cruise control, eight-level traction control, ABS, wheelie control, Bosch’s six-axis inertial measurement units (IMU) and three riding modes - Sport, Touring and Urban.
The engine of the updated model is from the Ducati XDiavel, but unlike XDiavel’s belt drive the updated Diavel comes with chain drive. Powering the bike is a 1262cc 90-degree twin-cylinder Testastretta motor that churns out 159 BHP and 128 Nm of torque. The engine mapping has been revised on the new Diavels. Eight years after its debut at EICMA, the 2019 Ducati Diavel 1260 takes a bow at EICMA 2018 and is all set to fire the stalls.
