Kawasaki has stepped up its game in the superbike market by updating its litre-class Ninja ZX-10R range. The ZX-10R, ZX-10R SE and track-spec ZX-10RR all get an engine with updated internals and a new livery internationally. These changed internal components allow the engine to rev quicker hence producing more power. ZX 10RR gets some more technical changes whereas ZX-10R SE gets upgraded cosmetically.
The motor draws the tech from BMW S1000RR. The change of valve actuation from tappet-style to finger-follower has helped to minimize the mass by 20 percent. With this change, the engine revs quicker which allows to keep up with the extreme conditions. New ZX-10R and ZX-10R SE makes 203 HP. Race spec ZX-10RR makes an output of 204 HP due to its lighter titanium connecting rods and an extra 600 RPM.
The Ninja ZX-10R comes with bi-directional quick shifter as standard. ZX-10R SE borrows the self-healing paint job from the Kawasaki H2 range. While the new updates are yet to be launched in India, Kawasaki recently reduced the CKD units pricing in India. They have priced ZX-10R and ZX-10RR at Rs. 12.80 lakhs and Rs. 16.10 lakhs respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). Kawasaki is running out of stock due to high demand for this range, hence instructed the dealers to stop taking further bookings.
