The German luxury carmaker, BMW will showcase the 2020 M340i at the LA Auto show. The M340i is based on the seventh generation 3-Series and it is the most powerful non-M3-Series that the manufacturer has ever made.
The car will be powered by a 3.0-litre twin turbo straight-six engine that churns out 382 BHP and 500 Nm of torque. To bring the power figures in perspective, this makes more power than the last two iterations of the M3. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and power is supplied to all four wheels. The company claims that the car can do a 0-100 km/hr run in just above 4.2 seconds and the top speed of the car is electronically limited to 249 km/hr.
The exterior of the car has been upgraded and apart from that, performance-oriented hardware has been added to the car which includes M Sport suspension, active setup with new-fangled lift-related dampers, electronically controlled differential, a variable steering rack, and upgraded brakes.
The price of the car is not announced yet but we expect it to be done after the LA Auto show. The launch of the car in other global markets will be done in summer 2019 but India launch is still under covers.
