Maruti Suzuki has been testing the 2022 Baleno facelift for more than a year now and we have been bringing to you the spy images of the hatchback. Now, our friends at Team-BHP have acquired clear images of the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift sans any camouflage. Insiders have revealed that the brand is looking for a world premiere around February 2022 while it goes on sale in the next few days in the Indian market. The 2022 Baleno facelift will be Maruti's first big launch next year followed by the Vitara Brezza facelift and new-gen Alto.

Going by the spy images, one can clearly see the new front grille which is flanked by the redesigned headlamp units. The front bumper has also been tweaked to lend a fresh appearance to the hatchback. The door handles and outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs) are finished in a black shade. Going to the rear end, the entire tailgate has been restyled while the LED tail lamp cluster gives a 3d effect. The company is expected to introduce newly-designed alloy wheels for the 2022 Baleno facelift. The details of the interior cabin are scarce at the moment but we believe Maruti Suzuki will offer a fully digital instrument cluster and the latest version of the SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system.
Mechanically, the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift is likely to remain unchanged. It will continue to carry the 1.2L petrol and 1.2L DualJet mild-hybrid engines. The mild-hybrid version comes with a top power of 89 bhp and a peak torque of 113 Nm. It is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard while the petrol-only model is also available with a CVT automatic gearbox. Sadly, there will be no diesel or CNG version of the hatchback. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift price is expected to start at Rs 6.30 Lakhs while going as high as Rs 9.50 Lakhs for the range-topping variant. It will rival the likes of Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, and Honda Jazz in the Indian market.
