A close look at BMW’s K 1600 GTL

This luxury motorcycle is the biggest bike in BMW Motorrad’s line-up.

The K 1600 GTL is a luxury tourer powered by a 1,649cc, inline-six, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 160hp at 7,750rpm and 175Nm at 5,250rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox.

The BMW measures 2,489mm in length, with a wheelbase of 1,618mm, seat height of 750mm and wet weight of 350kg. The K 1600 GTL comes crammed with equipment and features - it gets ABS Pro, electronically adaptive suspension, three riding modes and dynamic traction control. The bike also comes with central locking, a heated seat, electrically adjustable windscreen, switchgear-mounted multi-controller and adjustable seat height. As options, you can get reversing aid, an Akrapovic sports silencer, adaptive headlight, emergency call system, hill start assist, keyless ride, front speakers, shift assist and additional luggage bins.

BMW’s K 1600 GTL tourer is priced at a hefty ₹25.9 lakh (Standard) and ₹28.5 lakh (Pro) (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
