Ampere electric, a domestic electric scooter manufacturer launched the Reo Elite electric scooter at an ex-showroom price of Rs 45,099.

Customers can now book the electric scooter for a token amount of mere Rs.1999 via Ampere’s website and also through dealerships in Bangalore. The EV scooter is the first product after the Greaves Cotton bought the stakes of the Coimbatore-based EV manufacturer and made it a subsidiary company.

The EV scooter is powered by a 48V-20Ah lead-acid battery that has a range of 55-65km as per the company claims. The battery powers the 250W motor that can push the Reo Elite to a top speed of 25kph. A top speed of 25km/hr means that you do need a license or registration number to ride it. The scooter weighs just 86 kgs due to which it is quite easy to maneuver it.
