Bajaj Chetak electric scooter can be booked online with deliveries expected to begin shortly in Pune and Bengaluru.

Bajaj Auto India has resumed bookings for the Chetak electric scooter in the Indian market. The company had earlier stalled the bookings, owing to the nationwide lockdown due to Coronavirus pandemic. Bajaj Chetak electric scooter can be booked online with deliveries expected to begin shortly in Pune and Bengaluru, where it is on sale currently. The nationwide lockdown was announced on March 23 by the Indian government and since then, identical to every other automaker, Bajaj too had to shut down its factory and hence, it stopped taking bookings for the Chetak ES.

Bajaj Chetak electric deliveries were expected to start in full swing from March onwards but only a few handful customers could get it. However, as on June 1, 2020, the lockdown was lifted in major parts of India except a few containment zones, the company restarted its operations and production. Bajaj will give priority to the impending orders in Pune and Bengaluru and then focus on the new orders. The lockdown also delayed the company's plans to introduce the Chetak electric scooter in other cities of the country by several months. Bajaj has already made it very clear that before launching Chetak in a new city, it will carry out customer feedback study and analyse it while also giving equal importance to charging infrastructure and government subsidy on purchase of EV.
