BMW M3 Discontinued In India

BMW has discontinued the sale of M3 in India and currently, there are four M-Series cars on offer.

The German carmaker, BMW has discontinued the F80 generation M3 performance sedan in India. The performance vehicle was discontinued because the car didn’t meet Europe’s more stringent emission norms.

To meet the norms, the car needs to have a new particulate filter in order to meet the new Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). This filter helps to reduce the car’s output of nitrogen oxide and brings it below the permissible level required by the WLTP. Moreover, this filter doesn’t affect the performance of the vehicle.

Currently, BMW is offering four M-Series cars in India. First is the SUV, X5 M then comes the performance sedan, M5 with M xDrive and followed by two coupes, the M4 and recently launched M2 Competition. The new BMW M3 is expected to make its debut in 2020.

The M2 Competition is the smallest and cheapest BMW performance car which is being offered in the country and it’s priced at Rs. 79.90 lakhs. The M4, M5 and X5 M are priced at Rs 1.33 crores, Rs. 1.44 crores and Rs. 1.77 crores respectively. (All prices, ex-showroom).
