Maruti Suzuki is silently recalling the Baleno, S-Cross and Vitara Brezza for an issue related to the steering column assembly.

The Maruti Baleno, S-Cross and Vitara Brezza are being silently recalled by the automaker. Maruti Suzuki has sent a mail to its service centres asking them to replace the steering column assembly on affected cars free of cost if any customer complains about the steering feeling sticky while turning and makes abnormal noises.

This problem affects only these 3 cars, and for the Baleno both petrol and diesel variants are affected. Maruti service stations will carry out the replacement free of cost and the new steering column assembly will get an additional warranty of 3 years, taking the total warranty to 5 years.

Even for cars that have run out of warranty, the repair will be carried out under goodwill warranty. The Baleno, S-Cross and Vitara Brezza are extremely popular cars in their segment and it is good to see a manufacturer proactively taking measures to rectify issues.
