Bajaj has launched an updated version of its popular commuter motorcycle, the Platina. The updated Platina now comes with a LED daytime running light to meet the newly introduced government regulation. Along with the LED light, the motorcycle receives other minor updates as well. Bajaj has launched the motorcycle at ₹46,656 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The ComforTec is the first motorcycle in the 100-150cc segment to offer an LED daytime running light. Bajaj claim that this LED unit consumes less power than a regular light, and subsequently results to higher fuel efficiency than the other AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) equipped motorcycles. The LED unit is placed just above the headlight of the motorcycle. Other than this addition, the commuter bike remains largely unchanged.
For 2017, Bajaj has refreshed the look of the instrument cluster. The cluster continues to use analog odometer, fuel and speedometer gauges. Nevertheless, the overall look has been updated. The commuter bike uses the same 102cc engine that makes 8.2hp and 8.6Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a regular four-speed gearbox. Bajaj’s Platina takes on the Hero Splendor, TVS Star City and the Honda Dream CD110.
The new Platina ComforTec can be had in only two colours – Black or Red.
