Two versions of the bike will be available in India.

BMW Motorrad will be making two versions of the R nineT available for sale in India soon, the standard R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler. Though internationally, the bike is available with more options, this is all we’ll be getting in India for some time. The retro racer series features boxer-twin engine layouts and bare-bones basic looks. They share an 1170cc air-cooled boxer twin engine that puts out 110hp at 7750rpm and 116Nm at 6000rpm.

R nineT
The standard version comes with power figures mentioned above and is 2110mm long, with a wheelbase of 1487mm. The seat height of 805mm and the 46mm inverted forks up front and an adjustable monoshock round the back ensure a smooth ride. The wire-spoke wheels ooze vintage class. The bike weighs a total of 222kg and sports an 18-litre fuel tank. Automatic stability control and standard ABS have been included to provide necessary security for the riders. The R nineT is priced at ₹17.9 lakh

R nineT Scrambler
The scrambled version may be powered by the same engine as the R nineT, but other design and cosmetic updates make this bike a completely new experience to ride on. The extended seat height, 820mm, does wonders to the overall stance and the 220kg bike becomes much easier to manage. The fuel capacity is 17kg and ABS and automatic stability control are standard. Though slightly smaller, you will find 43mm inverted forks up front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear, with increased suspension travel: 125mm and 140mm, respectively, as opposed to the R nineT’s 120mm at both ends. The R nineT Scrambler is priced at ₹15.9 lakh.
