Bajaj Auto launches BS6 Pulsar RS200 at Rs 1.45 lakh as the motorcycle is heavier by 2 Kgs.

Automobile manufacturers are launching new BS6 compliant vehicles regularly. The BS6 vehicles will comply with the stringent vehicular pollution norms designed to regulate air pollution. Bajaj Auto has launched BS6 compliant Pulsar RS200 to replace the outgoing BS4 model. BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will now cost the Indian consumer Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) Delhi and is Rs 3,000 more expensive than the outdated BS4 version. Styling in the new BS6 model is same as the BS4 one but it is now heavier by around 2kgs. The reason for this weight increase is the addition of new components in order to comply with BS6 emission regulations. BS6 Bajaj RS200 competes against the likes of Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 and KTM RC125 in the Indian market.

If we talk about the performance, the updated 2020 Bajaj RS200 is powered by Triple Spark 4 Valve 200cc BSVI DTS-i FI, Liquid Cooled 199.5cc petrol engine. The engine generates 24 bhp of maximum power and 18.7 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is carried out by a six-speed manual unit. The bike offers disc brakes at both ends and a single-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).

Pulsar RS200 offers a fuel tank capacity is 13 litres while its ground clearance stands at 157mm. Dimension wise, the motorcycle measures 1999mm in length, 765mm in width and 1114mm in height with the kerb weight of 166kg. Some of the key highlights of this bike include twin projector headlamps, fuel injection system, race exhaust, semi-digital instrument cluster and crystal LED Tail Lamp. BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is available in 3 paint shades namely - Graphite Black, Racing Red and Racing Blue.

With the launch of BS6 RS200 in India, dealerships are offering huge discounts on the BS4 RS200 to clear their stock. Sale and Purchase of BS4 bikes have been extended to 24th of April 2020 by the Supreme Court of India due to COVID-19 outbreak. The nationwide lock-down has restricted the movement of the citizens thus depriving the dealers of selling off their BS4 inventory.
