The Italian motorcycle brand will commence sales from 2019.

Cagiva, the famous Italian motorcycle brand, is set for a comeback, albeit as an electric bike maker. No longer will their bikes be powered by Ducati V-twin-powered offerings.

The company is planning to showcase its new products at the end of this year, and will most probably unveil some at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show. The brand intends to start selling bikes as soon as 2019.

Cagiva, which is owned by MV Agusta’s, will see the parent company’s entry to the electric two-wheeler market. MV Agusta, CEO, Giovanni Castiglioni, said that he believes in electric and that there is great potential. Cagiva launched in 1950 in Varese, Italy and in its past, the brand has won races in Dakar and Motocross competitions, as well as in Grand Prix motorcycle racing.
