The Suzuki Hayabusa debuted in 1999 and has been hugely popular. Since it’s launch though, the bike received only one significant facelift, way back in 2008. The bike is now showing its age, both cosmetically and mechanically. Suzuki has been hinting at a new Hayabusa, and it looks like that we might finally see a new motorcycle in 2019.
Sketches of the new bike have emerged along with some details. Patents show that Suzuki is working on a new semi-automatic gearbox option. The bike is quite popular in the drag racing circuit, so Suzuki wants to go a step further with its new bike and it will include a launch control feature.
The engine could grow to around 1,400cc, and to keep the power up and offer turbocharging. The engine could make around 200hp in its production guise. The current Busa lacks in the electronics department, you can expect the upcoming model to come loaded with an all-new electric package inspired by the new GSX-R1000. Features will include ride-by-wire, multiple ride modes, multi-level traction control, IMU, cornering ABS, wheelie control and cruise control.
