2021 Mercedes Benz GLA Launched at Rs 42.10 Lakhs

Mercedes Benz India has launched the 2021 GLA at a starting price of Rs 42.10 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. The German luxury brand will increase the prices of the SUV by upto Rs 1.50 Lakhs from July 1, 2021. Being offered in two trims namely Progressive Line and AMG line, it will be available at the company’s online store. The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLA launch was delayed from April to the end of May due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The availability of the 2021 GLA will depend on the local economic activities and adherence to all local guidelines.

The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLA comes in a total of four variants: GLA 200 (Rs 42.10 Lakhs), GLA 220d (Rs 43.70 Lakhs), GLA 220d 4M (Rs 46.70 Lakhs) and AMG GLA 35 4M (Rs 57.30 Lakhs). The top-end trims are equipped with a myriad of premium features in the form of 10.25-inch digital instrument console, wireless charging, powered front seats with memory function, 64 color ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and a 10.25-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & 'Hey Mercedes' voice command. The AMG GLA 35 4M is the 13th CKD model and the 3rd AMG model added to the product portfolio of Mercedes Benz in India. In addition, the brand has also commenced the local production of the AMG GLA 35 4M at its manufacturing unit in Pune.




Mechanically, the 2021 Mercedes GLA can be availed with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variants draw power from a 1.3L 4-cylinder turbo unit which delivers top power of 163bhp and highest torque of 250Nm. The engine is coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in a front-wheel-drive layout. As for the diesel variants, they come with a new 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged motor which churns out 190bhp and 400Nm. It is linked to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard while Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive system is offered as optional. Last but not the least, the high-performance AMG variant is presented with a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which returns maximum power of 306bhp and peak torque of 400Nm. A 7-speed DCT automatic unit and AWD system is standard.
