6 Differences between Hyundai Creta and Venue.

Hyundai has finally entered the sub-4 meter SUV segment and the model that they have presented is the Venue. The actual launch of the car is supposed to take place on 21 May and upon launch the Venue will lock horns with Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, and Honda WR-V in the market. What the South Korean maker has lost on time it is hoping to make up with features as the Venue is on the of the most feature full cars in the segment. Venue will be placed just below the Creta in the market and apart from a lot of similarities between the two Hyundai SUVs, the prices of some of the variants of the two vehicles are also bound to overlap. Therefore we have complied a list about the ways Venue and Creta are different in their offerings.

Design and looks

The similarities between the two SUVs are only limited to the side looks of Creta and Venue. The Venue has got distinct looks as far as front and rear are concerned. While the Venue comes with swapped places for indicators and headlights, and gets a waterfall grille at the front, the rear is also very futuristic. Whereas Creta comes with more conventional looks that are somewhat getting old in the market.

Dimensions

While the sub-4 meter SUV tag makes it clear that the Venue is smaller than Creta, the wheelbase of the two SUVs are also different as Creta has a wheelbase that is 90mm larger than the Venue. The Venue is also smaller than the Creta in terms of height as Creta stands 1665mm tall while the Venue is only 1590mm tall.

Engine and Transmission

While the Creta comes with the choice of 2 diesel and 1 petrol engine, the case with Venue is vice versa. Venue comes with the option of two petrol and one diesel engine with first petrol engine being 1L turbocharged unit rated for 120 Bhp and 171 Nm and the other is a 1.2L unit rated for 83 Bhp and 114 Nm. The diesel unit on Venue is shared with Creta with the 1.4L diesel engine being rated for 90 Bhp and 220 Nm. The same is the case with transmission as well with the Venue being equipped with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission for the 1L turbopetrol engine. The other two choices on Venue come with manual gearboxes only. While the Creta comes with the choice of a torque converter automatic gearbox on both diesel and petrol units. 

Connectivity

Venue’s ‘Smart Connect SUV’ tag will arm it with 33 features and among these, 10 have been developed especially for India and it will feature the brand’s ‘BlueLink Connected Technology’. The BlueLink technology in the Venue offers remote start, headlamp control, AC, windows and horn control. Other features include emergency assist, real time traffic alert, remote car immobilizer, car tracker, and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. While the infotainment unit on Creta comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, it lacks the other features that the Venue comes with.

Interiors and features

The design of the interiors of the Venue is markedly different from Creta and both the vehicles come with well appointed interiors. The feature list is somewhat same with controls on steering, wireless charging, and other features. However, the pricier Creta takes the lead here as it comes with 6-way adjustable driver seat and ventilated front seats.

Cabin space

The very plain answer here is that the Creta has more cabin space without any doubt, but the Venue is also very good for its segment and comes with good rear seats.
