The Italian manufacturer, Ducati is in a spree of unveiling motorcycles ahead of the 2018 EICMA. Bologna-based superbike maker has revealed its most powerful bike, the Panigale V4 R. The bike gets a new heart and many other performance packages.
The Panigale V4 R comes with a downsized engine of the current Panigale V4, this has been done in order to meet the World Superbike (WSBK) homologation requirements. The engine capacity of bikes for WSBK require to be below 1000cc, so the Panigale V4’s 1103cc engine has been downsized to 998cc.
The Panigale V4 R gets new fairing which has ducts for better cooling, the aero package increases the downforce under heaving acceleration. The electronics on the bike includes Bosch cornering ABS, traction control, slide control, wheelie control, launch control, bi-directional quick shifter, pit limiter and GPS enabled lap timer. The bike comes with an optional Akrapovic race exhaust system that boosts the engine’s output by 13 BHP.
The 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine is the most powerful engine that the manufacturer has ever produced. The engine is rated at 221 BHP and 111 Nm of peak torque, these figures have been attained by the usage of lighter engine components, greater air intake and higher redline limit at 16,500 RPM. However, with all the above things said, the price and availability of the bike are not yet revealed but it will be more expensive than the standard Panigale V4.
