Ford India will be launching the Sports Edition of the Endeavour on the 22nd of September this year. The company recently released the first teaser image of the SUV on its official twitter handle thus confirming the launch. The teaser image of the SUV revealed an all-black theme. The premium seven-seater SUV has already started reaching dealerships. It has also been spotted doing test runs on multiple occasions in the past.
In comparison to the standard Endeavour, this Special Edition will feature a lot of blacked-out elements. Cosmetically, it will get a new gloss black honeycomb grille. The standard variant gets a three slat horizontal chrome grille. In addition, the Sport variant will get the same LED head lights along with fog lamps. Other blacked-out elements include front & rear bumpers, alloy wheels, and roof rails. It will also feature new matte black ORVMs with integrated turn signals on the sides. Towards the rear, there is a ‘Sport’ badge mounted on the tailgate and a gloss black slat with ‘Endeavour‘ lettering.
The interior details of the New Ford Endeavour Sport Edition have not been revealed yet. We can expect most of the features to remain unchanged. The SUV might get an all-black theme followed by minor updates in terms of new upholstery with ‘Sport’ stitching on it. Other feature highlights should include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 10-speaker audio system, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control system, power-adjustable driver & co-passenger seats, and a powered tailgate. Its safety kit will comprise of multiple airbags, cruise control, traction control, rollover stability, terrain management system among many others.
Under the bonnet, the Endeavour Sports Edition is not going to get any kind of update. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbo-diesel engine that also powers the standard variant. This mill churns out 168 bhp power @ 3500 rpm and 420 Nm torque @ 2000 rpm. It comes mated to a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. Furthermore, the SUV is likely to be offered in both 4X2 and 4X4 variants. The 4X2 driveline offers an ARAI certified mileage of 13.90 kmpl. While the 4X4 driveline will deliver a fuel efficiency of 12.4 kmpl (ARAI Certified).
As for the price, we can expect the Ford Endeavour Sport Edition to be Rs 1 lakh pricier than the top-end trim Titanium Plus. Ford launched the BS6 version of Endeavour earlier this year in the price range of Rs 29.99 lakhs - Rs 34.45 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once the Sport Edition is introduced in the market, it will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner TRD, Mahindra Alturas G4, and Isuzu-MUX in its segment.
