The updated commuter is fitted with a new 11.5hp 125cc engine.

Hero MotoCorp has launched its Super Splendor at Rs 57,190 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Hero’s in-house developed 124.7cc non-sloper motor, which also powers the Glamour launched in 2017, does duty on this bike. It makes 11.5hp and 11Nm. The engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox.

What else is new? You get a mildly sportier-looking seat that’s firm, reasonably wide and comfortable. The side panels are revised as well to look less boxy. The tail section is slightly more upswept, and they feature a neatly-integrated LED tail-lamp.

The Super Splendor is competitively priced but you don’t get a disc brake, even as an option. Its rivals offer electric start, drum brakes and alloy wheels and are priced at Rs 53,670 (Discover), Rs 56,429 (CB Shine), Rs 58,458 (Bajaj V12) and Rs 59,946 (new Glamour) (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
