Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall for three recently launched BS6 models.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced that new Honda Dio along with Activa 6G and 125 will have to be voluntarily recalled. The company has recognized a suspected quality issue in the rear cushion which could result in oil leakage or breakage and may lead to vehicle imbalance. It would replace the faulty part free of cost in the affected models which were manufactured between February 14-25, 2020.

Honda Activa 125 was the first model to make the shift to BS6 in September 2019 and has been already recalled twice now. Earlier, a faulty engine cooling cover was identified and the bike was recalled by the manufacturer a couple of weeks back ago. The Activa 6G was launched on January 15 and the Dio was launched just a month back on 11th February. Honda Activa 125 has already been recalled twice while Yamaha R3 was recalled thrice after its launch. The recall campaign will begin in Mid March 2020 as a precautionary measure to check and replace the suspected part (rear cushion). The concerned part if found in the defective part will be replaced free of cost by the manufacturer irrespective of the warranty status of the vehicle. HMSI will through its dealers proactively notify its customers via call/e-mail / SMS for inspection of their vehicle .

Customers can also check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Services > Campaign section on the company’s website (www.honda2wheelersindia.com). To avoid any inconvenience or waiting at the dealership, Honda’s customers are requested to book their service appointment in advance as per their availability.
