Here is the complete list of features for the Tiguan’s Comfortline and Highline trims.

VW’s new SUV, the Tiguan, will launch in India soon. The company commenced production last month at its facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. VW is also looking at riding the SUV wave that’s gripped our country.

Leaked images of the brochure show that the SUV will come with a host of infotainment and safety features. The entry-level Trendline trim (offered abroad) won’t feature on this car and VW will launch the Tiguan in two specs – Comfortline and the top-spec Highline.

If you opt for the Comfortline trim, your car will come fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, body coloured bumpers, LED headlamps and DRL, LED tail-lamps, electrically adjustable heated front seats, cruise control and paddle shifters. As far as safety is concerned, there’s front and rear disc brakes, ABS, ESC, curtain and front airbags, park distance control, and rain sensors as standard.

The Highline version comes with the features of the Comfortline trim and 18-inch alloys, keyless entry with push-button start, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, illuminated front scuff plates, easy open tailgate with delayed closing function, and safety features such as self-sealing tyres and reverse parking cameras.

VW’s Tiguan is likely to come with only one engine – a 2.0-litre diesel that makes 143hp. The engine will be paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox, there’s all-wheel-drive and a drive selector too.

For some international markets, VW has a longer variant of the Tiguan, known as the Tiguan Allspace, which offers seating for up to seven. Whether or not the carmaker offers that version here is not certain.
