Maruti Suzuki XL6, which lies in the Premium 6-seater MPV segment in India, now has six airbags as standard across all variants. This is a more premium and stylish derivative of the popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
This update is happening after a strong push from the government to implement stricter safety norms, which include a mandatory 6-airbag rule in the future. The XL6 competes with 7-seater MPVs like the Kia Carens, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, and Renault Triber.
Maruti Suzuki has marginally increased the prices of the XL6 (up to 0.8%), which translates to an increase of approximately Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 12,000. Other than this car, the Ertiga, WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, and Brezza already offer 6 airbags as standard across all variants.
The car has not been officially tested by GNCAP and INCAP until now, but it offers decent safety features in addition to the 6 airbags:

This popular Maruti car offers some notable features in its segment. It boasts a bolder and more rugged exterior design compared to the Ertiga.
It has a distinct front grille, quad-LED headlamps, body cladding, and roof rails. Inside, the XL6 provides 2 individual captain seats in the second row for a premium feel.
It has 3rd-row recline and flat-fold function that allows flexible cargo and passenger configurations. It features a 6-speed Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters for a more engaging driving experience.
The car is powered by Maruti's next-gen 1.5-litre K15C Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine with Smart Hybrid technology. It offers a good balance of performance and excellent fuel efficiency.
