The mid-size SUV is now available for members of the Indian Armed Forces.

Honda Cars India has announced that it will be selling its Elevate mid-size SUV via Canteen Store Departments (CSD) across India. The SUV is now available for members of the Indian Armed Forces at CSD. The auto giant already sells the Honda City and the Amaze via CSD, and the latest Honda car is the third model to be sold at the same departments.

In the Indian market, the Elevate is priced between INR 11.58 lakh and INR 16.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is available in four trims: V, VX, SV, and ZX. The AT transmission option is available in all trims except the SV. As of now, Honda has not revealed prices for the SUV available at CSD; however, the auto giant is expected to offer this model at a significantly lower price as compared to the ex-showroom cost.

Commenting on the recent announcement, the Vice President (Marketing & Sales) at Honda Cars India Ltd., Kunal Behl, said, “Extending Honda Elevate availability to our uniformed heroes is a privilege. This initiative reinforces our commitment to supporting those who serve our nation by offering them access to top-quality Honda products.”

The mid-size SUV is based on the fifth-generation Honda City. It gets the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine equipped in the City. The engine generates a maximum power of 119 bhp at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of peak power at 4,300 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT AT transmission with 7-steps.

The SUV’s high-end trim also features Honda Sensing Technology, which houses a host of ADAS features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lead Car Departure System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, auto-dimming IRVM, and Lane Keeping Assist.

In Honda’s lineup, the Elevate SUV is currently the most affordable product. The SUV is also one of the most budget-friendly SUVs in India. The automaker is gearing up to launch an all-electric Elevate in the coming years. In its segment, Honda Elevate rivals the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Citroen C3 Aircross, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and MG Astor.
