Honda has silently taken off both the Grazia and Aviator from its official website post the implementation of BS6 emissions norms.
Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) has delisted two of its scooters - Grazia and Aviator - from its official website in the country. Honda Grazia was launched three years back in 2017 while the Aviator was a relatively older model. The company has silently taken off both the scooters from the website which hints at two things: a) they could be permanently phased out from India, b) they could be re-launched with BS6 compliant engine at a later stage. Currently, the Japanese bike maker is retailing three BS6 scooters in the form of Activa 6G, Activa 125 and Honda Dio.
It is being learnt that Honda would permanently discontinue the Aviator but it might reintroduce the Grazia with a BS6 engine in the next couple of months. For those asking, the Grazia was Honda's flagship scooter in the 125cc segment with a plethora of premium features and exorbitant design. It was powered by a BS4 compliant 124.9 cc air-cooled, 4-stroke engine which we have also seen on the BS4 version of Activa 125. It developed maximum power output of 8.52bhp at 6500rpm and peak torque performance of 10.54Nm at 5000rpm while linked to a CVT gearbox. The engine also featured Honda Eco Technology (HET) which helps a lot in decreasing friction in the engine while at the same time improving the mileage.
Coming to the BS4 Honda Aviator, it was powered by a 109cc single-cylinder petrol engine which generated top power of 8bhp at 7000rpm and peak torque of 8.94Nm at 5500rpm. The engine came mated to a CVT gearbox with a claimed top speed of 82kmph. We have also come to know that Honda has phased out the Navi motorcycle and Cliq scooter from the Indian market. The company has decided not to upgrade both of the aforementioned products to BS6 emission norms and hence, it has discontinued both the models. Besides these two, it has also removed Honda CB Hornet 160R, and Honda X-Blade from its official website. So, the company has dropped a total of six models from its official website for the time being.
Honda Cars has hinted towards a new image of a concept electric car which will supposedly debut in Las Vegas at the event Consumer Electronics Show starting from January 9. This brand-new concept EV is going to be part of the company’s forthcoming global EV lineup.
