After numerous leaks about the Venue and even more renders of the Carlino Concept, South Korean maker unveiled the Venue SUV last month and launched it a few days ago. The bookings for the SUV have already begun and so have the deliveries. The SUV from the maker is proving to be so successful that the booking numbers for the new entrant in the segment have skyrocketed to 17,000 units and the number of people interested in getting a model has shot up to 80,000!
Hyundai Venue locks horns with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Honda WR-V, and Mahindra XUV300 in the Indian market. The prices for the base model of the SUV being at Rs. 6.53 lakhs, ex-showroom India and at this price point, the Venue SUV undercuts several major rivals in the segment. The model line-up of Venue SUV tops out at Rs. 11,10 lakhs with the SX+ variant being the top model in the line-up. Although loaded with features, the South Korean maker has managed to price the Venue variants in a manner where every customer has something to choose from.
Talking about the high booking numbers and the interest of the public in the SUV, Mr. Vikas Jain the Nation Sales Head at Hyundai Motor India Ltd. spoke,

Talking of the latest offering, the segment leading features on the Venue are 3 year/unlimited Kms warranty, 7 speed twin clutch automatic gearbox and air purifier function for the air conditioning. Safety features are also a aplenty on the SUV with the Venue coming with push button start, keyless entry, LED DRLs, cruise control, 6 airbags on the top-end variant, ABS, EBD, ESP, hill hold and traction control.
As far as the mechanicals of the upcoming Venue are concerned, the South Korean maker is offering a new 1 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine rated to deliver 120 PS and 175 Nm, this engine has been developed by the company in-house. This new engine comes with a 7-speed twin clutch gearbox and a 6 speed manual. As far as the other engines are concerned, there are two more options with the first one being a 1.2L petrol rated for 82 PS and 114 Nm and mate to 5 speed manual gearbox. The second one is a 1.4L turbo diesel engine rated for 90 PS and 220 Nm and mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The SUV will be sold as a front wheel drive car and there will be no all-wheel drive on offer, even as an option.
