Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd has announced new BS6 models for Jawa and Jawa Forty Two in India. Jawa Perak, another offering by the two-wheeler brand, is already BS6 compliant while The Jawa and Jawa Forty Two, were BS 6 ready back when the duo was launched in November 2018. Prices of the Classic Jawa now stands at Rs 1,73,164 from Rs 1,64,300 for the single-channel ABS variant and Rs 1,82,106 from 1,73,242 for the dual-channel ABS variant. As for the single-channel ABS Forty Two, the new price is Rs 1,65,228 which is up from Rs 1,60,300 while the dual-channel ABS Forty Two has gone upto Rs 1,74,170 from Rs 1,69,242 (Ex. showroom).
The Forty Two will be available in 6 different colour tones like Haley’s Teal, Comet Red, Galactic Green, Nebula Blue, Lumos Lime, and Starlight. The 293 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine will be equipped with the country’s first cross port technology thus both the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two retain their signature twin exhaust identity. Moreover, the power and torque figures also remain identical at 27 bhp and 28Nm, respectively.
Making the announcement, Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO, Classic Legends stated, “Riding responsibly is one of the core ethos of our brand as well as our Kommuniti and the Jawa and forty two were ready to take on the stricter BSVI emission norms right from the time they were conceived. This is the key reason why both these motorcycles have kept their character and riding pleasure intact even after receiving the updates to make them more environment-friendly.” The price increase of the motorcycles is due to the increase in the cost of precious metals used for making catalytic converter.
