The Japanese bikemaker, Kawasaki has showcased their entry-level sports bikes the Ninja 125 and Z125 at the Intermot 2018. These bikes will be majorly targeted at the European market. Both the bikes are well equipped with good hardware and share the style and design with the larger Kawasaki siblings.
Both the bikes are powered by the same 125cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that produces 14.8 HP and 11.6 Nm of torque. These bikes get a dual channel ABS with 290 mm front and 220 mm rear disc. These motorcycles come with a 37 mm telescopic fork on the front and preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear.
The Ninja 125 gets a full fairing sharp looking bodywork. The fuel tank, front mudguard, muffler and wheels are very similar to Ninja 300. The tail of the bike is inspired from the Ninja 650. Whereas, the Z125 is a sports naked bike and borrows many styling cues from the larger Z models. Both the bikes have optional seat-height on offer. The Ninja 125’s kerb weight is 148 kg which is 2 kg more than the Z125.
The entry-level Kawasakis will take on KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 in the European market and we expect that these bikes will not make their way to our shores.
