South Korean car manufacturer Kia Motors is all set to enter the Indian market by the end of 2019 with the launch of its first car, the all-new Seltos. The company plans to unveil this SUV later in June and has been teasing fans and enthusiasts with official photos and teasers of the car.
Besides, the car has been caught testing on Indian roads and during ad film shoots as well. The company has now given a sneak peek into the vehicle ahead of launch highlighting parts such as headlamp, grille, rear door handle, and tail lamp. As you all know, Kia Motors has officially made the announcement to name this car Seltos.
This SUV will rival established cars likes Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur, and Tata Harrier in the country. Seltos will be a trendsetter in India in terms of design and is likely to be the talk of the town upon launch. It comes with a 3D grille texture inside a signature Tiger Nose shape. The sleek headlamps on the car are placed on either side of the grille and also feature an all-LED set-up. Wondering where the indicators are? They are located just below the main headlamp cluster with some design elements and look quite good.
The tail lamps of Kia Seltos are all-LED and huge in size. The car gets a wrap around the split tail-lamp for premium looks. Another unique design feature of Seltos is a floating-type roof design with shark fin antenna at the top.
The cabin images of the new Kia SUV are also out. And needless to say, the car looks premium will high-end Bose speakers. However, before you get all excited, know that it is widely anticipated that the Indian version of the car will be stripped off some premium features to keep costs under control. What is certain is that Kia will offers rear AC vents in this car.
The Seltos may offer some of the premium features seen in its global variant such as fully-digital instrument cluster, cooled seats, wireless charger, and 10.25-inch infotainment screen. The buyers are also expected to get a 360-degree camera, drive modes, cruise control, and HUD with this new SUV.
Kia has kept the engine options on the upcoming Seltos under covers. However, given the nature of Indian auto market, the company will provide both petrol and diesel engine options in this SUV. Some reports suggest that Kia Seltos may come with 1.5-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol engine options compliant with BS6 emission norms. If we talk about the global variant, the car also gets a turbo-charged 1.0-litre engine that powers Hyundai Venue in the Indian market.
