KTM is planning to expand the KTM 390 Adventure range in India, and it has started testing two new variants of the famous Adventure bike, namely, the standard Adventure variant and the Enduro version. Recently, the spy shots of the upcoming 390 Adventure bikes were revealed online, revealing various designs and hardware specifications.

The Austrian ADV is currently undergoing a major design overhaul. The standard 390 Adventure will have tube-shaped LED DRLs on the edge of a vertically stacked projector LED headlight arrangement. The new models will also feature a clear visor with a vent. On the other side, the 390 Adventure Enduro will get a different and smaller LED lighting system. It is expected to come without a visor. Both models were seen with a long muzzle instead of the traditional front fender. The front-side fairing also gets a slight modification to match the design of both versions. The Enduro test mule has a flat seat, while the standard bike seems to get a one-piece scooped unit. The standard Adventure bike also features split grab rails.

The standard Adventure and Enduro variants come equipped with an engine crash guard, a bash plate, and a saree guard. The 390 Adventure Enduro features block pattern tyres, while the same old one is shod with twin-purpose rubber. These tyres are covered with 18-inch and 21-inch front spoke wheels.

The 390 Adventure version will ride on adjustable upside-down front forks and a new off-set monoshock. The braking hardware consists of a single disc at each end with ABS. The new models are expected to come with traction control, ABS modes, ride modes, and a totally virtual TFT with phone connectivity.  The KTM 390 Adventure is powered by a 399cc, liquid-cooled engine, which is also equipped in the 390 Duke. The engine generates 45.3 bhp of power and 39 Nm of peak torque. The motor could be mated to a six-speed gearbox and get a bi-directional quickshifter.

The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure standard model is likely to be priced around INR 3.5 lakh, while the Enduro trim could come at a price of INR 3.8 lakh (each ex-showroom, Delhi). After their official launch, the flagship KTM ADV bikes will become the most robust and expensive models in the company’s portfolio for the country. These new models will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Yezdi Adventure, and the BMW G 310 GS.
