Jawa Perak has been modified by Verma Automotive; Comes with a detachable pillion seat

Jawa Perak was launched in 2019 at a starting price of Rs 1.94 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India). The deliveries of Jawa’s flagship model were scheduled to begin from April this year but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed it. A couple of months later In July, the motorcycles started making their way to the consumers who had pre-booked it in January. The Perak is often touted as the first Indian bobber and now we have an exciting modification for our readers. Being a single-seater bike, it doesn’t come with a typical sub-frame needed for a pillion seat. The bike wouldn’t appeal to some but it would excite the enthusiasts who love to explore. Verma Automotives has added an aftermarket pillion seat to the new Jawa Perak.

The designers added a sub-frame bolted underneath the rider’s saddle. The best bit about the modification is that the fabricated sub-frame can be removed and the bike can become a single-seater once again. In the video, we can see that the aftermarket seat can handle the pillion rider weight. The customized bike seat colour scheme is brown; it's the same as the rider’s seat. There are turn indicator lights under the rider and pillion seats. The other modification is the addition of a foldable side number plate and new LED headlights.

There are no further modifications spotted in the bike. The bike comes powered by the same BS6 compliant 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke, DOHC engine. The bike delivers 30 bhp of maximum power and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed constant-mesh gearbox. The model comes with front telescopic forks and rear adjustable shock absorbers. There are 280 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes in the bike. The manufacturer offers dual-channel ABS as standard. The bobber motorcycle shares underpinning with the other two Jawa models - Forty-two and Jawa Classic. Jawa Perak rivals are Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Benelli Imperiale in the Indian market.
