Honda’s flagship tourer has been completely reworked in terms of styling, performance and tech.

After a long wait, details of the upcoming flagship Gold Wing motorcycle have finally emerged.  Honda also released a teaser video which suggested an October 24 reveal. Press shots of the motorcycle have leaked and they showcase most of Honda’s new upgrades.

The upcoming Gold Wing gets sharper, more up-to-date styling. The bodywork has a futuristic edge to it and Honda has finally managed to make the enormous motorcycle look sleeker. The headlight is now a full-LED unit, which adds to its contemporary styling. Honda has also swapped the traditional front forks for a Hossack-style setup, similar to BMW’s duo-lever system. Moreover, semi-active suspension is also expected to debut on the new Gold Wing. The Japanese manufacturer has also designed a new frame that should result in a significant weight loss.

Honda will continue to offer its well-known flat-six engine, the motor will likely be Euro-5 compliant and offer additional power as well. It also looks like Honda will offer their dual-clutch automatic transmission as an option, similar to that on the Africa Twin. The Gold Wing has always been known for its tech, and this new one will be no less. The motorcycle has a new touchscreen display that sits between the two analogue dials. It will also receive almost all of the electronic features seen on the latest motorcycles and more.

The New Gold Wing will be officially revealed on October 24, 2017. Honda sells the current-gen Gold Wing in India, so we expect the upcoming one to arrive here sometime next year. We can also expect it to be priced marginally higher than the outgoing model.
