Nissan Magnite launch in India will take place by early 2021, say around January-February

Nissan India has unveiled the production-ready Magnite SUV ahead of its official launch in the country. The Japanese automaker is venturing in the sub 4-meter SUV segment with the Magnite which is already flooded by the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport and Toyota Urban Cruiser in the Indian market. Nissan Magnite launch in India will take place by early 2021, around January-February while the price will start from Rs 5.30 Lakhs and go as high as Rs 7.50 Lakhs for the top-end CVT variants.



Underpinning the CMF-A+ architecture, Nissan Magnite flaunts bi-projector LED headlamps and a Datsun-inspired octagonal grille upfront. The L-shaped DRLs alongside the fog lamps and skid plate are integrated into the front bumper. The side profile is dominated by roof rails, cladding on the wheel arches and alloy wheels. As for the rear end, it boasts of LED tail-lamp cluster, skid plate and 'MAGNITE' lettering on the tailgate. The cabin is borrowed from Renault Triber as several elements are identical. Some of the premium features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 6 speakers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, air purifier, puddle lamps and ambient mood lighting.

Mechanically, Nissan Magnite will draw power from a BS6 compliant 1.0L HRA0 turbocharged petrol engine with mirror bore cylinder coating from the Nissan GT-R. The engine will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and an X-TRONIC CVT gearbox. The X-TRONIC CVT gearbox will get features like Cruise Control and wider gear range. As for the safety feature, Nissan Magnite will comprise of Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), speed sensing door lock, central locking and SRS dual airbag system with pretensioner & load limiter seat belt for driver and passenger.
