The company has made several omissions to the Scorpio range with the BS6 update in the form of all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, 2.5L diesel engine, 120bhp 2.2L mHawk engine and the base S3 variant. On the similar lines, the BS6 range of Mahindra XUV500 also witnesses a slew of notable exclusions in the form of entry-level W3 trim, 6-speed automatic transmission, 2.2L turbocharged petrol engine and all-wheel-drive (AWD system). Mahindra Scorpio BS6 features include an automatic climate control system, cruise control, reverse parking sensors and camera, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. Similarly, Mahindra XUV500 BS6 features sunroof, keyless entry and go, automatic air conditioning, 7.0-inch touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and powered driver’s seat.

Mechanically, the Scorpio draws power from the BS6 compliant version of the same 2.2L 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine which develops top power of 140bhp and peak torque of 320Nm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission with power transmitted to the rear wheels. The diesel motor has been equipped with a selective catalytic reduction system alongside a dedicated urea tank while a diesel particulate filter is also standard. Under the hood, the XUV500 retains the same 2.2L diesel mill albeit with certain updates to comply with the BS6 emission norms. It generates maximum power of 155bhp and highest torque of 360Nm while linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox with the 6-speed Aisin auto transmission expected to be reintroduced at a later stage.
