Hyundai Motor India recently launched the next generation i20 in the country. The premium hatchback has been a big hit among customers as it has crossed the 25,000-booking mark since its launch. Hyundai has a performance-oriented version of the i20, dubbed as the i20 N-Line on sale in the international market. Something like that has been reimagined for the Indian market. The digital renders of the same have surfaced online which gives us a basic idea of what to expect from the upcoming go-faster N-version. However, Hyundai does not have any plans to get the N-Line version of the i20 to India as of now.
As per the rendering, the 2020 Hyundai i20 gets a more aggressive and sportier look in comparison to the current model. Upfront, it offers a slow-slung hexagonal grille and angular headlamps. In addition, it is seen with large air intakes on either side and a sharp chin splitter. On the sides, the four-wheeler is seen sporting large dual-tone alloy wheels, black side skirts, and blacked-out mirrors. The images also reveal that the i20 will cater to a prominent roof-mounted spoiler. The car gets a wide body kit with flared wheel arches as an aftermarket fitment. The modified Hyundai i20 in the rendered image looks a bit louder than the actual i20 N-Line.
Besides these visual enhancements, the 2021 Hyundai i20 N might also get a powerful engine and a sportier suspension setup. At present, the next gen i20 is offered with three engine options. A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit that churns out 82 bhp power with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 87 bhp power with an IVT transmission. Its 1.0-litre TGDi petrol motor is offered with a 7-speed DCT gearbox along with iMT transmission as an option. It further dishes out a maximum power output of 118 bhp. There is also a 1.5-litre U2 diesel engine on sale that can be availed with a 6-speed manual gearbox on-board. It further develops 98 bhp power.
