Okinawa has launched the i-Praise e-scooter in India, which is priced at Rs. 1.15 lakhs

Okinawa is an Indian electric scooter maker that has launched the i-Praise e-scooter today and it is priced at Rs. 1.15 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Okinawa i-Praise sits above the standard Praise e-scooter in the lineup and the latter is priced at Rs. 71,460/-. The significant increase in price is due to more features on offer and the i-Praise is also lighter than the standard Praise.

The Okinawa i-Praise comes with a detachable lithium-ion battery unlike the lead-acid battery of the Praise. The new e-scooter also has a charging time of 3 hours unlike 8 hours of the Praise. The detachable battery is a big advantage to charge the scooter more conveniently. The bike maker is also offering an additional swappable battery pack for Rs. 70,000/-.

The i-Praise is 40 percent lighter than the Praise and offers 160-180 km of range with a top speed of 55-75 km/hr. These numbers are from ideal testing conditions, expected real world range and speed to be lesser than the claimed numbers. The Okinawa i-Praise was open for bookings since December 2018. It is available in red and black, golden and black, silver and black colour options.
