Spy shots taken at a dealership show that the company is readying the bike for launch.

The originally carburetted Bike made the transition to fuel-injection to satisfy BS-IV norms, but procuring the required governmental approvals saw deliveries suspended since April. The fuel-injected, BS-IV compliant version looks ready to be introduced soon - spy pictures show a fuel-injected Himalayan at a dealership in Kerala.

Visually, there isn’t too much that’s different other than the blackened handlebar clamp and fuel lid. The fuel-injection system is evident because of the lack of a carburettor and the presence of an O2 sensor.

The engine’s specifications remain the same – it’s the same 411cc, single-cylinder, oil-and-air-cooled unit. The Motor makes the same 24.5hp at 6,500rpm and peak torque of 32Nm at 4,250rpm. The engine continues to channel power via a five-speed gearbox. There’s now word on prices just yet, but they might see a small bump up.
