Not to brag or as a shock, but once again, Rimac Nevera has broken off a 20-year old record of achieving maximum speed in reverse drive by attaining the speed of 275.4 kmph.

Rimac Nevera has always left people awestruck with their infamous speed performance. And beating up records has become their common pattern, so here they give one more. Nemera has not taken a step back from being called as a supercar after touching a high-speed of 275.4 kmph. Hold on! There’s some twist to it. Rimac Nevera has achieved this top speed in reverse drive and has attained the rank of being world’s first supercar to do so.

As this car is not new in breaking records, the Rimac Nevera recently broke off a 20-year old record of a vehicle having acquired top-speed while being driven in reverse gear. The Guinness World Records rendered the Nevera with the title after having achieved 275.4 kmph top-speed in reverse drive. The car has transcended the top-speed in reverse gear record of Caterham 7 Fireblade at 165.08 kmph.

Although, the exclusive clientele of the Rimac Nevera is highly implausible to achieve such lightning speed in reverse drive but the fact that one unit of Nevera managed to do so. And it achieved a highest mark of 275 kmph in a record-beating attempt making itself as the classic mad supercar to test out its capability to such extent.

But, this attempt of record-breaking statement must not have fumbled people who clearly have witnessed Rimac Nevera breaking other records. And as it’s known that the Rimac Nevera has no gears and the 4 individual motors go either back or forwards without having even the smallest iota of mechanical interruptions. What does it actually mean? So, as per the Croatian firm, it suggests that the Nevera can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in merely 1.81 seconds irrespective of having a forward or reverse drive. And to a shock, its momentum can go from 0 to 100 kmph in reverse gear in merely 4.42 seconds.

“It occurred to us during development that the Nevera would probably be the world’s fastest car in reverse, but we kind of laughed it off. The aerodynamics, cooling and stability hadn’t been engineered for travelling backwards at speed, after all,” says Matija Renic, Nevera Chief Engineer at Bugatti Rimac. Goran Drndak, test driver, added, “On the run itself, it definitely took some getting used to. Despite it being almost completely unnatural to the way the car was engineered, Nevera breezed through yet another record.”

And in the core of the Rimac Nevera is a 120 kWh battery pack, but rather than talking about the range we can access, it's all about the performance that can be pulled out from the supercar. But, how much? The Nevera provides a remarkable horsepower of 1,914hp along with an astounding peak torque of 2,340 Nm. The supercar can get up to a maximum speed of 412 kmph. Individual motors attached on each wheel supports them independently but one electric motor is particularly dedicated to drive torque instead.
