Royal Enfield has finally launched the Himalayan ABS version that was much awaited among Indian buyers.

After the launch of Royal Enfield Classic Signals 350 a week ago. The company has launched the ABS variant of its adventure bike, the Himalayan. The Classic Signals 350 was the first bike from Royal Enfield to get ABS in India. The Himalayan range gets a dual channel ABS.

Following the addition of ABS to the bike, there are no other mechanical or cosmetic changes. The ABS on these cannot be switched off. There will be dual channel ABS on every Royal Enfield model by the end of this year. After the new IRDAI announcement, there will be a hike in the on-road price of these bikes. It is mandatory for new two-wheelers to get a one-year comprehensive insurance along with five-year third-party insurance.

This IRDAI regulation will increase the price of the new Himalayans by Rs. 17,400/-. The on-road Mumbai price for the Himalayan ABS is Rs. 2.19 lakhs whereas the Himalayan Sleet ABS is priced at Rs. 2.20 lakhs. The sales dropped massively when people came across the poor quality of first generation Himalayans. But sales are back on track after the launch of BS IV complaint variant, now with a price hike on the new models, only time will tell the fate of Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS.
