Simple Energy Launches Dot One Electric Scooter at INR 1 Lakh

The Bengaluru-based automaker has unveiled the Dot One as an affordable version of the Simple One.

Simple Energy launched the Dot One electric scooter in the Indian market on December 15, 2023. For buyers in Bengaluru, the Dot One will be available at an introductory price of INR 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The Dot One is the company’s second e-scooter for India. It joins the Simple One e-scooter in the product line-up of Simple Energy.

The Bengaluru-based automaker has unveiled the Dot One as an affordable version of the Simple One. The new scooter comes with a range of 151 km per charge. The Dot One comes equipped with a 3.7 kWh battery and an 8.5 kW e-motor that churns out peak torque of 72 Nm. Simple Energy claims that in 2.77 seconds, the new electric scooter can go from 0 to 40 kmph. The scooter rolls on 12-inch wheels.

Simple Energy is offering the Dot One e-scooter in four color schemes: Azure Blue, Namma Red, Brazen Black, and Grace White. It also gets a storage space of 35 litres under the seat, a touchscreen instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and Android OS along with turn-by-turn navigation. The company is also offering the BrazenX and LightX paint options as part of its new offer.

The two-wheeler manufacturer said that the price revealed for the new scooter is only for a few customers in Bengaluru. The company will reveal the new cost of the Dot One to potential customers in January 2024.

The Dot One symbolizes our commitment to delivering a top-tier yet affordable electric mobility experience, seamlessly blending elegant design with cutting-edge features for our esteemed customers."

Simple Energy is looking forward to expanding its reach in the extremely competitive EV segment, but it has witnessed a few controversies as well. For example, the Simple One was unveiled in August 2021, and the company received over one lakh bookings for the scooter, but it witnessed delays, and the first batch was delivered to buyers in June 2023.
