Skoda India to Surge Prices by up to 2 Percent from January 2024

Skoda Auto is implementing a price hike due to rising supply and operational costs.

Skoda Auto India has announced that it is going to increase the prices of its passenger vehicles by up to two percent starting in January next year. The company will increase the prices of Kodiaq, Skoda Slavia, and Kushaq starting next year. All these models are currently on sale in the Indian market. Skoda is implementing a price hike due to rising supply and operational costs.

Skoda is also following in the footsteps of other manufacturers in India with the surging price of its cars. Price increments are quite common at the beginning of the new calendar year. Aside from Skoda, other manufacturers, including Audi, Volkswagen, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Citroen, MG Motor, and Tata Motors, are all implementing a price hike on their models effective in 2024. This year witnessed a consistent rise in prices due to increasing inflation rates globally.

Skoda Auto’s model range begins with the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan. Both of these models are available at a starting price of INR 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Both Skoda models are now exported to GCC and various drive markets. Skoda will also unveil these models in Vietnam in 2024. 

Engine Specifications

The SUV and Sedan are based on the MQB-A0-IN platform and come with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre TSI engine churns out 113 bhp, whereas the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit produces 148 bhp. Transmission duties in the 1.0 TSI are done by the six-speed manual and torque converter, whereas the 1.5 TSI has the six-speed manual and the seven-speed DSG automatic. The Skoda Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI engine that churns out 188 bhp mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan have earned five-star ratings for both adults and children from Global NCAP.

Skoda Auto India is likely to unveil the Enyaq electric sports utility vehicle in India next year. The automaker is also getting ready to reveal the updated special editions of the Kushaq and Slavia. Skoda is also offering various year-end benefits and discounts on its models. The Slavia and Kushaq will now come with benefits up to INR 1.6 lakh, whereas the Kodiaq SUV is available with benefits worth INR 2.2 lakh.
